Kora really loves going to the playground after her story time. Daddy even got to join us last week.

Spring Break
Last week for Spring Break the kids kept busy. Kali went to an ASU gymnastics meet with her friend, Lauren. The girls had a great time!
Kai went to run errands with me and we went out for lunch at Barro's.
The kids went swimming even though the pool water was cold.
and for St. Patrick's Day, I set up a scavenger hunt with a "treasure" of new books at the end. I was actually substitute teaching that day so my Mom sent me this pic

40
Francis turned the big 4-0 on March 13th and I surprised him with letters from family and friends from all parts of his life. He really liked it :) I was proud of myself for keeping a secret from him, which is near impossible! I got him his favorite cookies from Basha's bakery, made him a chocolate cake and took him out to dinner. The kids gave him gifts and his Mom came by to watch the kids while we went out. It was such a special day for Francis & he deserved it!
Last Outdoor Games
The last two games of the outdoor season were yesterday. Kai's team won both games and he scored one goal in each game. It was fun to watch but it's getting warm so glad to be done with outdoor and the boys really like indoor. It was a good season with this nice group of boys. Excited to see how the indoor season will go for them. Go North Valley!
Twelve.
Francis and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary yesterday. He got me roses and the sweetest card. We spent the afternoon at soccer games but got to go out to dinner and had a nice night. We're so lucky to have each other.

Dewey
We spent the past few days in my Dad's little farm house in Dewey, Arizona. It's close to Prescott and just across the street from Mortimer Farm (The old Young's farm)
Kora, Kali and Kai LOVED it as soon as we got there. It's a very old house with a big porch, lots of yard to run around, a riding lawn mower, no t.v., no internet, horses next door, cows across the street and vineyard down the road. It was perfect.
We went fishing at Lynx Lake. Worst lake every for fishing but really fun to just relax.
Kai got to bring his dagger and he was really happy.
The girls got a little cold so they played in the van. Look at that silly Kora.
When she did come out she was a wild one.
The boys brought the BB guns for some shooting. Next time we're bringing the bow & arrows. There is no one around to injure :)
Look at that gorgeous view!
Kora took a nice, long nap.
The kids played "Goonies"
It was such a great time. We talked, ate yummy food, played cards, relaxed on the porch and really enjoyed each other.
That's what life is all about.

Aloha Festival
We went to the Aloha Festival at Tempe Town Lake yesterday. It was warm! SOOOo not ready for it to be in the 80's! The kids loved walking by the lake.
We are some delicious food and walked around looking at the booths. It's mostly just people selling stuff but it was okay. Don't think we'll go back next year but glad we went once.
Kai liked the boats with his name on them. Kora tried to cover up his name.
Kali was making crafts at the kid's booth so she was busy.
Then we were all hot and ready for a cold drink so we headed home.
Science project
Kali has been hard at work lately on her big science project. It's a big part of their grade for the last semester of school and she did a good job. We went to see her project on display & the next day she got her score....at 100%!!! Great job Kali!
I am proud of this big 4th grader! And, we only have 5 more days of school until SPRING BREAK---yay! I need a break from packing lunches, pick up and drop off in the morning at the school is a NIGHTMARE. Seriously there is so much yelling at that school. A week off will be nice :)

Book Characters
Monday was Book Character day for Dr. Seuss' birthday. Kali was Madeline Hatter from Ever After High and Kai was an MLS Superstar! (what a surprise) The parade was in the morning & it was freezing & rainy so it was a huge mess. Kali and Kai said the rest of the day was fun though. They got to watch The Cat in the Hat, have guests readers in class and eat popcorn.
