What Mom & Dad have been up to

When we first moved to our house it was cream colored, orange bricks & turquoise trim. GAG me with a spoon! We painted the trim a few years ago and always planned on painted the cream but got so busy once we had Kora. Well this past weekend we had officially had it. Francis went to Home Depot, bought paint & brushes and got to work.
I love that this guy is a hard worker. It was SO hot the first day but luckily some clouds rolled in the next day and we even got some light rain. Made the painting not so painful.
Kali and Kai rode bikes and scooters with the neighbor kids.
And two days & two cans of paint later we are done with the front stucco. Next up is painting the brick and then we are going to put new gravel out front & Francis is going to tile the front walkway.
Francis and I went on a date to Blue Martini to hear a cover band play. We met up with a friend of mine from high school and her husband. It was so nice to get out.

Kali is SO excited because she just found out that she is going to be a gingersnap in the Nutcracker!

She has been working SO hard on her flexibility & it's paying off.

This wild and crazy gal has been keeping me busy while Kali & Kai are at school. Kora likes going to visit them at lunch, she thinks the loud cafeteria is great.
And, just for proof that I dress nice sometimes I took these pics of my new FAV shirt & earrings.
I have been on Pinterest pinning outfits with denim shirts so I've been wanting to buy one and I finally found one on sale at Target for only $15...score!
I am SO excited for cooler weather.

Dining Room

Starting the remodel
 removing baseboard & quater round
 installing beadboard
filling in a TON of nail holes
chaging out the beige electrical outlets to white ones....HUGE week long delay due to power outage in 1/2 of the house due to a cinged wire :(
back to work and adding molding over beadboard
sanding down nail holes on the beadboard--look at all of that dust!
Francis starts painting beadboard and I dust the entire house
new paint....very similar to old paint but a little lighter/creamier version and semi-gloss this time since our kids are sticky :)
 spray painted air vent cover
 painted outlet covers
 hanging stuff back up
 table back in place
My mom gave me my Grandparent's old radio to put in the corner of the room, I love it! I changed out the knobs and am now deciding on a color to paint it.
still need to hang our floating shelves and then we're done
I love it!! Francis did a great job.

Master bedroom update

Francis finished laying the marble and painted the room and french doors white this weekend.

Our litlte pirate came to check on his work.
Yesterday Francis grouted the floor and it looks great! The rooms looks so much bigger & I am so glad to be rid of that gross carpet.

While Fran was finishing up their room I had the kids play outside and color the Pergo boxes. Sounds really lame huu? Well they LOVED it! We also got out paint & clay.

It kept them busy for hours. All they asked for was cheese & crackers and when they saw the ripe lemons on the tree they wanted lemonade.

They were so cute out there!

I went to Home Depot for finishing nails and mini blinds.

Here is the room before we moved all the stuff back in.

Francis did such a great job in only 4 days!!

And, finally here is the fnished product. (well we still need to put curtains up and a few other things) This is Kai's 1/2 of the room.

And, the view of Kali's 1/2 of the room.

The room is so much fun!

So much fun in fact that they are still awake and it's 11:23 at night! They are way too excited!

I seriously married one handy guy.

Hello 2012

New Year's Eve was spent installing Pergo in the kid's room. Mr. Becker worked for almost 8 hours and was exhausted by the time it was dark out. Kai fell asleep early & Fran & Kali went to pick up some Yogurtini.

Francis and I stayed up watching Planet Earth and went to bed at midnight. I know we're really exciting!

New Year's Day 2012 started with more home improvement. Francis starting painting the baseboard and I took a trip to Home Depot. The kids had a blanket laid out and tents in the yard. They said it was like having a party. The weather was a perfect 79* today. Kali and I went for a walk and Kai picked pea pods, lettuce & carrots out of the garden.

He washed them off in the sink and started munching away.

In the evening we went to Grandma Kathi & Dennis' for dinner. Kali LOVED playing with Dennis' little Grandbaby.

These kids are SOOO excited to have a baby around.

Then it was time for fireworks!

Happy 2012!!!!
