Koko's 1st swim class

As if were not at the pool enough, Koko started swim class this week. Kali and Kai came with & Kai saw one of his favorite swim team coaches there teaching there so he joined in that class. Now he's taking 10 classes a week there. Kai is a fish. 

 Koko was excited and kept saying, "pool, pool, pool" as we were walking up. She is use to just watching Kali and Kai at meets so she was really excited to get in. 

 She jumped in, kicked, went under a few times and blew bubbles.

 She just did not want the teacher to touch her...ha!

 She liked seeing Kai swim by us in his class.

 Koko had a good time & now she is laying down & tired. Hooray for after swim naps.

 I love that my kids feel comfortable in water and I'm glad Koko had a good time with no tears. Living in Phoenix there is NO option of not learning to swim. 

Swim Meet #3

Yesterday was the 3rd Swim Meet of the summer. It was a home meet at Mnt. View Pool. 

The weather was perfect and there was a really pretty sunset. This is a picture that one of the team Moms posted on Facebook.

Kora and my friend Misti's daughter sat in their little chairs watching the meet. So cute!

Another week of swimming fun!

Kali and Kai had another week of swim team and Cub Club. They are having a lot of fun! 

 Kai had to go to the dentist because his mouth was swollen and his teeth were hurting him. We found out that he has an infection so he is on antibiotics for two weeks and then he will have the tooth pulled. We went to a new dentist office and he loved it! I was very relieved. He got to get a prize and he got a ring for his friend Diem. He gave it to her at swim and it was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen. They are such good friend & are so sweet, kind, thoughtful to each other. You really don't see little kids have friendships like that so it's cute. Diem was so happy she gave Kai a big hug and ran over to show her Mom and sister. Kai was really proud of himself.

Our swim meet with week was at Sunnyslope Pool. That pool is SOOO organized, we were done in an hour and a half! Last meet was 3 hours so we were glad.

 Kora came again and was such a good girl just walking around with Granddad and eating snacks.

Swimming

Swimming is pretty much all these two do lately. They get up go to swim team, come home and read for 30 minutes, on Mon/Wed we go swimming at my parent's house, Tues/Thurs they go back to swim in the afternoon for Cub Club where they learn about water safety & play games (it's the beginnings of life guard training for kids) then on Thurs. they go back to the pool in the evening for swim meet. Phew! That's a lot of pool time, but they LOVE it!

 Kali and Kai are in the same group at Cub Club so they were happy about that. It's cute how they like to be together.

 which is basically a game that has them treading water for a LONG time but they don't notice because it's such a fun game.

 Learning some water safety rules

 Swim meet! The first meet was at PV Pool & very unorganized. But our pool (MV) had new instructors so I guess they are still learning. Here is Kali and Diem (Kai's Kindergarten friend)

 Kali and Diem are very similar and I think that is why Kai gets along so well with Diem.

 I kept looking around for Kai and could not find him. Here are the girls playing before the meet

 The meets start at 7pm this year so it's not awfully hot. 

 Kai is the youngest in his 7-8 group so he is racing some BIG kids this year. He did really well and even placed in backstroke and freestyle. The relay was a mess because they send them out at the wrong time and Kai's team had to race 9-10 yr olds. Shesh!

 Did I mention Koko was there running around? She ate pizza, grapes, popcorn and a few "mimi's" (lollipops) my Dad played with her and walked her around all night. So glad Granddad came.

 Kali did a great job too. She is racing 9-10 this year. They had a few problems with the relay teams because a few girls would NOT go until everyone was screaming "GO". I felt bad for Kali because she was always ready and swam well. But she did get a few place ribbons.

Soccer

Last outdoor game of the season was 2 days after we got home from Disneyland & it was HOT. Poor Kai got so hot that it made him feel sick.

 Which is good because the NEXT day we started indoor season.

 these are the cutest little soccer players I've ever seen

 they played a team MUCH older and from a competitive league so they lost pretty bad but each kid said they had a great time!

 Then we had a team party at Dave & Busters, it was a great time! The kids had good food, cake, got medals and played games....doesn't get much better than that!

Sure do love this little soccer family. Some of them might drive us crazy but we really have a fun group of families & kiddos.
