Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day started with a Father-Son Turkey bowl at Moon Valley Park. The boys had a great time! Kai played the entire game.

The girls played on the playground after getting bored watching. After the game we had friends over for brunch and then Fran & I layed around the rest of the day while the kids played outside. It was a really nice day.
The next day we had Thanksgiving over at Grandma Kathi's. Kathi and I found a bunch of yummy non-traditional Thanksgiving recipes on Pinterest. It was DELISH! We had prime rib, gruyere panchetta brussel spout gratin, brie wrapped in puff pastry, pumpkin sage muffins, and a delish pomegranite walnut kale salad. After we ate the kids decorate gingerbread trees.
The food turkey Kathi made for the kids.

Thanksgiving Performances

On Monday Francis, Kora, Uncle Bret, Granddad and I went to see Kai's Kindergarten Thanksgiving performance.
He was NOT happy about being a pilgrim. He said they did not know how to do ANYTHING & the Indians had to teach them how to hunt, cook, and make homes. Kai is so funny :)
Kai & his best buddy Mason
Kali had her performance on Wednesday. Her class did a little reading about the pilgrims and Indians. She too, was bummed to be a pilgrim. We've got Native pride in this family :)

Here is Kali with her good friends Monica & Amber

Now we get 4 days off!! Hooray!

School

Look at these two cuties all ready for school.

Backyard Camping

Last weekend we set up a little campground outback. Kora LOVED playing in the tent.
Kora and I hung out in the tent until bedtime then slept inside but Francis, Kali and Kai slept in the tent. It was a chilly night.
 We made s'mores
 Kai got a little crazy
Kora thought the fire was amazing
and we told ghost stories, Kai really got into it.
