Life with a teen

This teen does not like me taking her picture so I have to sneak attack her.

 Yesterday I went to register her for CREST high school at PVHS. She might not like photos taken but she is such a good girl and SOOOO smart. 

Bodhi visits

One of our favorite things to do is visit Bodhi!! Cody and Ashly live in Dewey now so it's just a quick trip.

8th Grade

 I don't have many pictures of Kali since she totally 13 now. But she is very busy at school in Honors Science and STEAM again this year. She joined Marine Biology club and is in Student Council again this year. After school she swims for Neptune swim club so she's very busy and enjoying 8th grade. She spends a lot of time making crafts, texting friends, having friends sleep over, going to watch Kai play soccer and hang out with the older teams (her age). Kali is a really good girl and does not seem to have nearly as much middle school drama as I did so that's a good thing.

You know how 8th graders can be really awkward?  Well not Kali. She is so happy and confident! I am so proud of her. She got very bad news the week before school that her favorite teacher committed suicide. It was hard for her to understand and she cried a lot. She asked to change schools but then decided to stay and I am proud of her. 

She's in advanced science, STEM, trying out for the volleyball team already, club swim and will do aerospace club again. Oh, and the bottom of her hair is dyed blue :) 

Sure do love our Kali girl.

Back to School Open House

Kali had her back to school registration the SAME night at Kora did. So I worked at the yearbook booth at Kali's school. Then left her there while I took Kora to meet her teacher. Francis did not get to come since the workers were out at home getting the water out and ceiling insulation cleaned up. It was a crazy night but the girls had fun!

 Kora LOVED the classroom and is SOOO excited to have Mrs. Gleash. She even made two friends already! She can't wait for the first day of school.

Swim Team Banquet

The kids attended the swim team banquet. They received medals, ate cake and swam with their friends. It was a fun night for them and a little hot for the parents. Go Manta Rays!

Manta Rays

Swim team has officially started! Kora is on the team too this year. Well.....she's gone a few times but she just really, really, loves to sleep in late. 

They had their first meet. Kora said she did not want to swim because she needs to practice more. Kai wanted to go to soccer so he had a crummy attitude.

 And, Kali was AMAZING! She won first in freestyle, backstroke and freestyle relay her team got first and she swam TWICE!. I was one proud Mom!

Kali

Kali is back to basketball at Sunnyslope community center 

 She loves Mountain Sky Junior High and is enjoying her classes. Her favorite is STEAM. She is even in STEAM club and has been able to design projects for the 3D printer. She is very talented. 

She is getting good grades and very happy this year.

 She rides to school with her neighbor friend. His Mom and I take turns dropping them off. They've been friends since 1st grade so it's neat to see them as preteens now. They look out for each other which is really nice.

 Kali had a slime party with some of her friends and they made a huge mess but had lots of laughs.

and of course Kora joined in 

 Since STEAM club and basketball just aren't keeping Kali busy enough she is also swimming three days a week at Swim Neptune swim club. She's a busy, happy girl :)

Kali

Kali has been doing great in school for the 3rd quarter. She got good grades on her report card so she got to get a new beta fish and we ran into her good friend Brayden at the pet store.

 She's still playing basketball and enjoying it. Her dribbling is incredible! She also go the PE Award at school! We're very proud of Kali.

swim team, cub club & discovery guard oh my!

This year Kali and Kai both did swim team and Kai was in Cub Club and Kali was in Discovery Guard so we were at the pool A LOT! Last week we went to the Cub Club/ Discovery Guard Olympics (it was soooo hot, long & unorganized) and had Swim Team Divisionals so it was a really busy week but the kids had fun.

 Kali had a really good year on swim team this year & has become a very strong swimmer

 Kai had a great relay team this year and they won each time they swam together
