Summer Days

The kids are done with swim team & Cub Club so now they spend their days swimming, eating popcorn & snow cones at Yaya's after being in the pool
watching movies and Kora loves to play on the iPod now
going to dentist & well check appointments
Kora's first time at the dentist ended in her destroying her balloon animal and using her toothbrush in the parking lot...success!
The kids read everyday and we've been cleaning their toys out and taking them to the Goodwill and Hissyfits. Today we took a break from cleaning to go to PV Pool. The kids had fun on the slide and diving boards. Sure do love having my kiddos home in the summer!

Kai's first time on the high dive...he went about 50 more times.

Labor Day Weekend

On long weekends the kids like to make a "big bed" in the living room with all of their big pillows and stuffed animals. Kora thinks it's great. But sadly, I left a bowl of rice out that I was going to feed her and when I left the room I saw this.
Nasty little Koko!
Francis started working out outside again (not sure why since it's SOOO hot still) but Kora likes watching from our bedroom window. (p.s. ignore the awful turquoise trim, we are going to paint that)

Seriously this girl is a crack up!
Any weekend in our family involves swimming, lots of swimming.

This is Kai's snake he got at Target, his names is Charles Ravi III. Why is that his name? Because I said so :) Every time we call the snake that its makes us all laugh.
I bought a big double pack of raspberries to make a fruit salad this weekend....Kora had other plans for it and ate them all.
I started feeling sick last week and I think I have a sinus infection so I was pretty boring this weekend and the kids started to get a little bored. Francis and I got up and went to a cycling class together at the gym. When we got home the kids were ready to go to something fun.

So, we went over to Grandma Kathi's house for lunch and swimming on Labor Day. Look how pretty her floors are! Francis remodeled her house last year. What a handy guy :)

Kali and Grandma Kathi played checkers while I watched Kora run around like the wild girl she is.
Then she decided to go skinny dipping. We had a nice time.
Then Kali had to go home, change & it was off to dance.

Swim class

We started swim class this week. And, I say WE because I am doing water aerobics.

Kali was so happy that her friend Natalie is in her class & she has Raymond (the BEST swim teacher) as their instructor.

Kai has a terrible teacher and does not like his class and he said the water was too cold (it was) so we just let him swim before and after class. That is the thing with Kai, he can swim but if he does not like his teacher then he is not going to. I am just not one to force my kids to do anything....especially swim because I want it to be enjoyable. Maybe next session will go better for him. Kali is doing really well & my aerobics class seems fun.

Labor Day 2010

We spent Labor Day at Grandma Kathi's house swimming and eating
and filling up water balloons
Kai liked spraying everyone with the hose
Kali dove down the touch the bottom of the pool about 20 times (which is a big deal because it's a deep diving pool & heck I would not do it)
the kids really learned a lot this summer at swim lessons and both of them can swim really well which is so nice because we don't need to hold them

It was such a nice day and Kai even fell asleep on the car ride home.
But woke up the second we tried to lay him in his bed.
The kid loves to swim but hates naps.

This week was the last week of swimming classes. The kids did so good this year & really liked their teachers. Kali finished in level 3 and Kai finished level 1 this year.

They got to go down the slide & off the diving board. They also got lollipops & a certificate.
Look at my little Kai on the diving board!
I could not believe it but he was so happy after & wanted to go again.
He had a great teacher for level 1. Raymond is a Native American and he has a long braid so Kali said Kai was lucky to have an Avatar as a teacher. ha!
Kali loves going off the diving board. Kali made some cute little drawings to give to her teachers.
Here is Kai in his class doing the class cheer,
"go level 1"!!!
I am SO proud of these two!

Kai the starfish
But I tell you what I am NOT going to just stand on the side & roast out there next year I am going to join the water aerobics class & at least work on my tan while keeping cool.

What a fun summer!
