A's

Kai got all A's and we were very proud of him! He, of course, hated every second of the assemble, ha! He had a great experience time at Madison Simis. This school set the bar HIGH! It's seriously everything you could ever want for your kid. I'm just sad I did not take other people's advice sooner and send him there.

Field Trippin' with Kai

I chaperoned Kai's field trip to the Heard Museum. It was an interesting tour, the kids got to make a craft and their favorite time was lunch out on the grassy amphitheater.  Sure do love my boy!

School stuff

Kora likes to do pretend homework while Kai works on his. Kai was tested for the gifted program and got in. He is not very excited about extra work, ha!
Kali is still enjoying 7th grade. Basketball, student council and STEAM are keeping her busy. She also enjoys not wearing warm clothes when it's cold out. This is  a pic of her when I told her it was going to be a high of 58*

Spartan Race

Kai ran in his first Spartan race this weekend and did a great job! He was in the 10-13 age group so he was on the younger end. It was two miles, up hills, carrying sand bags, climbing ropes, jumping over tires, going through mud and climbing walls. He finished 6th in his age group and had a great time. He went with his friend Jack.

What's up

Francis got a new job and will start in January! We celebrated with a yummy dinner, cake and sparkling cider.
We've been so lucky to see Bodhi almost everyday since he's been born. Oh and Kai made it to his school's spelling bee!
this baby cousin is just precious
My Mom, Dad and I went to the Craft Fair at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center and ran into relatives
My good friend Fred from high school cheer came into town and we spent the morning hiking Squaw Peak and catching up. It's always so fun catching up with old friends.

November happenings

November was a busy month. Kai got honor roll at school. Then we made a choice to switch schools since he was very bored and unhappy at his school.
We now drive him to Madison Simis and it's AMAZING what being a school like this is like. It's seriously night and day and when I pick him up he says he had a good day. (he use to try and miss school everyday) He went to the Turkey Trot race at his school and won 2nd place so it was a good first week.

He's also very busy with soccer still and enjoying every minute of that.
Kali got honor roll for her first quarter or 7th grade and has been swimming club swim at Moon Valley Country Club. She's having fun!
She is also playing basketball at Sunnyslope community center. Her team was really good this season.
Kali is also in aerospace club at school and student council. She is currently working on decorations for the winter dance.
Kora is having fun running errands with Mom, sleeping in late and going to play at Yaya and Granddad's house.
I've been subbing and had some interesting jobs. Here I am waiting 30 minutes for the kids to finally show up.
Kora and my Dad did not want to spread germs. ha!

Friends

Kai went to a pumpkin patch and the State Fair with friends, he had a great day!
and Kali went to a pumpkin carving party down the street at Sean's house
and I got to go on a date with my best buddy ever!

Honor Roll times 2

Kali and Kai both got honor roll (A's and B's) this quarter!! We went to Yogurtini to celebrate after I got home from two very positive parent teacher conferences. I was SO proud!

Sports

October has been spent watching Kali's basketball games at Sunnyslope Community Center

taking her to basketball camp at ASU downtown
cheering Kai on at his soccer games
watching Francis play indoor soccer at PSC
going to Francis' outdoor games at McDowell Mountain Ranch
Kora practices with Daddy in the house (as a dragon)
heading over to the farmer's market after one of Kai's games

As you can tell we basically live in our van driving all over the city for sporting event. We have our wagon full of chairs, canopy, blankets and toys for Kora. It's busy but fun!

Kai

I subbed for Kai's class for 4 days and he was SO excited! I just love that Kai still thinks it's cool to have me around.

He is a Husky Hero this year and gets to help the 1st graders with their work at the end of the day. He was initially really excited but that wore off and now he's "over it". ha!
We took his soccer team to volunteer at Hearts and Hands day at St. Vincent de Paul. They had such a fun time making sandwiches for the homeless and less fortunate. To them it was competitive (of course) and they worked really hard.

Their team is in Division 2 for the entire state of Arizona. They're having a great season so far! Kai is #1 and playing multiple positions: forward and right, left and center mid this year. Francis is still his coach and I am the team manager this year. It's very official, I even have a photo ID, ha!
Kai had a few days off of school for Fall Break and Francis stayed home one day and we went to Anthem Park. We met up with some of the soccer team that also had the day off. It was a good time.
