Japanese Festival

We spent Saturday afternoon downtown! It was so fun to outside and walk around downtown. We parked by the Baseball stadium and watched the ball thing out front (not even sure what you call it) then watched the lightrail go by and on to the festival. It was a little crowded at first but after an hour most were leaving. We had some yummy food and watched traditional Japanese dancers. The kids had the most fun making "whirley twirleys"....sadly they broke them on the way home but they had fun while they lasted. I love going downtown & its always fun to do something where the kids are learning and getting a little culture. Next weekend its to the Art Museum for us!

Farewell to the Turner's

Our friends the Turner's are moving to Kansas for 6 months so we met at the zoo to say goodbye. Here is Kali and Natalie saying goodbye to the youngest Turner, Malia.

Kali, Brooke & Natalie, these 3 girls are soooo cute together!
Kai, Natalie & Kali feeding the chicken kettle corn....not sure if this is really what they should have been doing.....

but Monika & I had fun taking pics of them doing it & here we are! Monika might kill me for putting this on here since she has a no pic rule but we don't have many pics of just us. Sorry Monika but I bet Julia will be happy to see a pic of you :)

and here is Kali standing like a "robot" what a crazy girl! Notice Kai is eating...as usual!

You really can't beat a day at the zoo when the weather is this good. And, we were glad to see Wendy, Brooke & Malia one last time...now Kali will have her first pen pal!

Friday=Funday!

Mr Becker has every other Friday off, it is one of the best things about his job. So Friday my brother Cody took him golfing. Oh and in case you're wondering Cody's job as a Phx Police Officer is safe thanks to a food tax the city is starting. Hooray for keeping cops!

here are the kiddos & Noodle waving goodbye to Daddy & Uncle Cody but don't feel bad for us being left behind.....

.....we went to our FaVOriTe restaurant, Flamingo Palace to celebrate my friend, Monika's Birthday!!! (she is Natalie's Mom)
Kali was so excited to have Natalie come to Flamingo. Seriously if you live in Phx you should stop in for a bite...sooooo good! Get the sizzling rice soup & you will not be sorry.
Monika told me not to post any pics of her (she is at the end of her pregnancy and has a strict no pic policy) so here is the table :)

Kai was so cute when Monika came to the table he said, "Happy Birthday to you Monika".

We had a great time....Monika you're a wonderful friend!

Oh and want to see the cutest home?? Click here

It is another European home that I am borderline obsessed with. Maybe I should wish upon a star that I can live in Europe? Kali told me if you wish upon a star your dream will come true...she said that is how she got her little horse to become real! Good to know :)

Kai

Kai is not a baby anymore & is growing up so fast that it makes me a little sad but he is such a fun little boy! Here he is riding on an animal on the carousel for the first time (the kids usually just sit on the bench) Kali has not even done this yet.

he liked it so much that we went twice!

Kai also went with Kali to her Musikgarten class and informed me that it was boring. He had NO intention of dancing around, holding hands with kids, or singing....he is ALL boy. (oh and his fingers are always in his mouth--sooo gross)
Today we caught him out back doing lunges with Fran's weight bar....what a tough guy!
he always wants to do whatever his daddy is doing :)

He may be a tough guy but he always has time for a snuggle with Mommy.
I sure do love this little guy!

Freaking out animals

We went to the Wildlife World Zoo this week with my mom and brother, Cody. We saw a baby kangaroo in the mommy pouch & another baby hopping around...when the mother of that Kangaroo saw me it hopped over to protect it like I was a baby snatcher. Then we walked by some macaws and they started screaming really loud. To top that off I walked up to look at the lion that was laying in the grass and it looked right at me and stood up, growled, pounded its front paws on the ground and charged toward me!!! So basically I am the spawn of Satan?! Shesh! The kids thought it was neat but it totally freaked me out.

it was fun having our friends over and after they left Mr. Becker took the kids to the park so I could take a nap......gotta love that ;)

Monday, Monday.....

Kali and Kai are just becoming the best of friends. They are so cute together, well most of the time...everyone now and then they will have a full on bar brawl. Today they had breakfast together and did school work together. I teach Kali at home and Kai has recently become interested in what we are doing and she helps teach him. He really looks up to his big sister. After "school" we played out back, watering plants and checking on our little garden. Kali was really happy to see her "bean bops" (sugar snap peas) are flowering and should be sprouting some pods soon. They had snacks outside,

and now we are inside and Kai is stacking movies and making "roads" for his cars. He uses books or movies to make little roads around the house. He is very creative like his sister.
Kali is doing her learning games on her laptop
see the shoes laying on the floor ? Those are her "Sketchers", she wanted real shiny Sketchers SO bad for Christmas but they were WAY too expensive ($40 for kids shoes is WAY too much) so I got these shiny Converse at Target for $9 and bought some sparkly silver shoes laces & she LOVES them! She tells everyone that they are Sketchers :)

Oh and some good news for me! I sold two of my hair clips on the Help for Haiti Esty site (see the link on my sidebar) & one of the buyers is from Paris! For some reason that makes me feel really good because aren't Parisians the authority on what is chic and fabulous??
