While Fran was finishing up their room I had the kids play outside and color the Pergo boxes. Sounds really lame huu? Well they LOVED it! We also got out paint & clay.

It kept them busy for hours. All they asked for was cheese & crackers and when they saw the ripe lemons on the tree they wanted lemonade.

They were so cute out there!

I went to Home Depot for finishing nails and mini blinds.

Here is the room before we moved all the stuff back in.

Francis did such a great job in only 4 days!!

And, finally here is the fnished product. (well we still need to put curtains up and a few other things) This is Kai's 1/2 of the room.

And, the view of Kali's 1/2 of the room.

The room is so much fun!

So much fun in fact that they are still awake and it's 11:23 at night! They are way too excited!

I seriously married one handy guy.

Happy Birthday Granddad

Today is my Dad's birthday.
He likes straw hats, chewing on toothpicks, ASU, the History Channel, football, bagels & coffee, he can anwer almost any trivia question, loves roadtrips, can build/fix all kinds of stuff, and is the best Granddad any kid could ask for!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Hooray for half days!

Kali had a half day, which meant ZOO day!
She is learning about animals in school right now so we took a bunch of pics for her to show her class. Kai had fun pushing all the information buttons and eating. Yaya came with us and we had such a nice time.

When it's time to change....

The trim on our house is turquoise.
Yes, turquoise.
Please don't judge...we did not do it, it came that way.
Remember the big hail storm?
Well it made a hole in our roof so a few weeks ago when I rained, we had a leak.
We are going to get a new roof so first we decided to paint over the awful turquoise.

By the way, I LOVE when Mr. Becker does stuff around the house. There is just something so manly about a shirtless man with tools.
Kai did some painting of his own.
and Kali worked on homework and had an afterschool snack.
Oh and on a totally unrelated note:
My cellphone broke 2 months ago!
So if you have left me a message in the past two months...I did not get it.
If you sent me a text in the past two months...I did not read it.
Heck if you even called....I did not know.
I am not sure when I will get a new phone, it's so nice feeling so free.

The day that started bad & then got good

Sunday I woke up, drank some OJ & took my multi-vitamin & then checked my e-mail.

Then puked :(

Bad to take a multi-vitamin with no food.

Lesson learned.

Canceled my plans for the day & then layed around.

Mr. Becker said, "it's nice let's do something outside".

So we went to the Rock Museum and it really should be called the petroglyph museum.

The kids had fun & it was a beautiful day outside.

Then we drove about 5 minutes to get to the Adobe Western Railroad for a free train ride.

The kids really enjoyed looking at the model trains and then going for a ride.

And you can't beat free!

By that time we were hungry so we went to our favorite place, Yogurtini--yum!

The kids spent the rest of the afternoon playing at my parents and Mr. Becker and I went for a walk around the neighborhood & for a small hike up the hill by our house.

The day started bad but turned out to be perfect!

When we were at the museum Kai said, "it sure was a good idea to come here".

And, when we got home Kali said, "it was a great family day".

They were both right!

Busy Saturday

We had a busy day yesterday.
First, Francis woke up and went to soccer practice.
Then, I took Kali to a birthday party and then it was straight to the soccer game.

After that we were all hungry so we took the kids to dinner at Flamingo Palace--yum! And, dessert at Yogurtini.
When we got home the kids wanted to do some Yoga so we watched a Yoga class for kids online.
It was a busy day, so it was nice to wind down with some Yoga.
I just love spending the day with my little family :)

Yaya

I write a lot about "Yaya".
Yaya is my mom.
One day when Kali was about 18 months we were walking to my mom's and she said, "Yaya".
The name stuck.
She is my neighbor, my friend, and a wonderful Grandma.
The kind that bakes cookies, buys a Woody & Jessie doll to cheer the kids up one day they were sick. Makes Christmas SO special, plays outside, gardens and lays in bed and talks with the kids.
She is also the type of Grandma that will dress up as Snow White and show up at the Halloween Party!
She is really funny. And when she starts laughing it's contagious.
No only is she beautiful she is crafty, a good cook, artistic, kind to others, a HUGE Bon Jovi & Backstreet Boy fan, can sew most anything, a shop-a-holic (like me) she loves to serve others and she is one of my closet friends. And, inspite of my nasty lack of patience she has tried to teach me everything she knows ;)

She is one awesome little chick!

Oh and can you get over how pretty she is in this pic??

soooo glad I have her genes :)

I love you mom.

back to our regular schedule

This week Kali went back to school.....boo :(
But she was happy to see Mrs. Carmen and her friends.

Kai and I took a trip to the Zoo for a "Mommy & Kai" day! Kai was so happy to stay on the tractor for as long as he wanted since the zoo was not so crowded. He played in the tree house for a long time until it was time for us to go and then right as we were walking by the little creek he jumped in & got his shoes all wet and muddy. Silly boy :)

That night was First Friday and Mr. Becker did not want to go so I took the kiddos and we had a great time. Of course Kali loved all the Asian art & Kai really liked the museum too (it was his first time there)
We ended the night with Yogurtini--yum!

The gloves

I saw a great idea on a blog to buy cheap gloves and embellish them. I sewed sequins on mine, cherry buttons and glittery hearts on Kali's and then it was time for Kai's gloves.
Kai LOVES Iron Man.
Iron Man has gloves with these circle things that shoot some sort of laser (I am not really sure what they do) but anywhoooo I sewed felt circles on Kai's gloves and he is SO happy with them.

They even gave him enough power to beat up Uncle Bret!

Adventures in soccer....chapter 1

Kali had her first soccer practice this past weekend.
It was cold...brrrr!
Kali made some new friends.
Coach Becker did a lot of talking.

The team did a lot of running.

and Kai played in the playground.
Stay tuned for chapter 2-the first game!
p.s. I still don't understand soccer, still don't find it interesting but I sure do love the two players in this family!

Scurvy Dog

This is Kai's unmade bed this morning. He got this blanket for Christmas from Grandma Kathi and as soon as he saw the Jolly Roger he said, "it's a scurvy dog!"
This kid loves pirate stuff. Over winter break Kali and Kai watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 different times and Dora & the Pirates at least 5 times.
Aargh matey!!!
