Goodbye Noodle

We got Noodle the first year we were married. He was our first baby and got a little more crazy with each added addition to our family. He did a lot of bad things, bit quite a few people and in the end was kind of a terror. But, we had some good years with this little guy. Goodbye Noodle.

6:30 pm

Here is what was happening at the Becker house yesterday at 6:30 in the evening.
(it's weird to say evening because the sun is up until 8pm so it really just seems like an extended afternoon)
Anywhoo...Fran and the kids were playing a card game in the back (amidst a HUGE mess)
Kora was hanging out in her little chair
while I was making lettuce wraps and white rice for dinner.
(Kai probably ate 10 large pieces of plain lettuce...I've never seen a kid do that)
After dinner Kali read us a chapter of her book Kiley Jean Hoop Queen, brush teeth and the kids and I walked Noodle over to my parent's house (he is living there now and only comes here to visit...LONG STORY)
and then it was time for bed.

Gummy

This is Noodle's face close up...Kai took it. Kai is such a pest to Noodle. Always in his face, touching his tail, covering him with blankets...etc...
Now Kai has another obsession (besides pirates, super heroes and bothering Noodle) his gummy bear chair. The kids even asked me to take pictures of them with this funny chair. These two crack me up!

Watching Kali

Kai found sticks, took pictures and played in the playground while we watched this fancy little lady in ballet.

and since I rarely mention him I thought I would add a picture of Noodle that Kai took :)

Our family gets bigger...

When we first got married we got Noodle. He is very uptight and likes to bite anyone that comes over (besides family). He is Kai's BEST friend and very loyal to our family.

When we first talked about getting a dog, Mr. Becker always wanted a German Shepard.

I did NOT want a big dog because I'm a little scared but Francis promises he is going to take care of her. So Nala joined our family yesterday. Last night was a little rough (like having a new baby rough) but hopefully it gets better soon.

The kids are sure happy about her.

Noodle however.....isn't :)

***POST EDIT***** 4 days later (after VERY little sleep & numerous fights with Noodle) we had to give Nala away. We found her a good home with a friend of mine.

My little shadow

Before I had kids my constant shadow was Noodle. He has been following me around since day one. He is actually the first big purchase I made after getting married, graduating college & getting a "real" job. After I got my first paycheck I went with Francis and my brother, Bret way out to Mesa and got Noodle. The man we bought him from actually gave me the willies but I was happy to get him away from him. He was SOOO tiny and soft.
My parents referred to him as their "granddog" and my mom bought a little dog carrier that she could wear and took him to Target (it was hilarious) I had little shirts for him and he has had a Halloween costume every year :) He was a honey bee the first year we had Kali because she was a flower, a mermaid, a dragon and he even has an elf costume for Christmas.
Once I got pregnant with Kali he would lay on my belly anytime I was in bed, he started protecting her really early. When we brought her home Noddle curled up on a little rug in her room anytime I would nurse, change diapers, or rock little Kali. He has done the same for Kai too. He LOVES our kids. No matter how much they bother him during the day he is almost always willing to play with them (until Kai tugs his tail). In fact, last night Kai woke up yelling at 4 am that he had to go to the bathroom and Noodle was the first one out of bed running to Kai's door. And after I got Kai back to bed (he wanted to sleep on the floor) I laid by him until he fell back asleep & Noodle was right there with us. He does the same if Kali wakes up.
He is fiercely loyal to our family and will not tolerate anybody or anything coming near us. This causes a problem with having people over so he is always handed over the fence to my parents. I hardly ever write about little Noodle on our blog but if you look closely you can see him in about half of our pics because he is never far away. We love our crazy, pooping, puking, barking and growling Noodle.
P.S. on a totally unrelated note, go to my cooking blog Yummies Tummies for some recipes! The link is over there ---->

A future in torture?

This is how spends Kai half of his day:
Torturing Noodle
Poor, Poor Noodle.
Well not really poor Noodle because he did pee on Kali's floor a few days ago & anytime we leave him at home he poops on the floor. I guess he is punishing us for letting Kai torturing him? Anyways it is extremely annoying & the more I tell Kai to leave Noodle alone the more he want to "play" with him. Shesh! And when Kai does leave him alone Noodle runs up to play with him again.
Maybe Noodle is a masochist?
Maybe Kai will one day work for the CIA (my secret dream) and torture terrorists??

And while we're on the subject of torture...Kali is watching Happy Feet, which is a form of torture for moms...that movie is the WORST!

HOLY SCHNIKIES!!! Noodle just PUKED On the floor as I am typing this--GRRRR! Torture I tell ya!
