Night Riders

The kids in the neighborhood have been loving the nice weather. They meet up and ride bikes during the day or shoot hoops. They decided to decorate their bikes for Christmas and do night riding. All of us parents had fun joining them. It's our new tradition.
 Look how fun this is!

Greentrails Party

I live in the same neighborhood I grew up on. Kind of sad, kind of neat. A while back I was telling Francis about how fun the neighborhood used to be with tons of kids & fun parties at the park. I was complaining about how we don't have that anymore. Then Kai started school and I met more families that live right by us, Kai started soccer and we met a few more. On Halloween we met another family while trick-or-treating so I sent all of these people messages and we all got together yesterday. It was PERFECT! We had 22 kids running around playing & all of the adults got to get to know each other.
Me changing my crummy attitude of complaining to actaully making something happen...awesome :)  I hope that we will keep this up over the years and one day our kids will be talking about how fun this neighborhood is!

What Mom & Dad have been up to

When we first moved to our house it was cream colored, orange bricks & turquoise trim. GAG me with a spoon! We painted the trim a few years ago and always planned on painted the cream but got so busy once we had Kora. Well this past weekend we had officially had it. Francis went to Home Depot, bought paint & brushes and got to work.
I love that this guy is a hard worker. It was SO hot the first day but luckily some clouds rolled in the next day and we even got some light rain. Made the painting not so painful.
Kali and Kai rode bikes and scooters with the neighbor kids.
And two days & two cans of paint later we are done with the front stucco. Next up is painting the brick and then we are going to put new gravel out front & Francis is going to tile the front walkway.
Francis and I went on a date to Blue Martini to hear a cover band play. We met up with a friend of mine from high school and her husband. It was so nice to get out.

Kali is SO excited because she just found out that she is going to be a gingersnap in the Nutcracker!

She has been working SO hard on her flexibility & it's paying off.

This wild and crazy gal has been keeping me busy while Kali & Kai are at school. Kora likes going to visit them at lunch, she thinks the loud cafeteria is great.
And, just for proof that I dress nice sometimes I took these pics of my new FAV shirt & earrings.
I have been on Pinterest pinning outfits with denim shirts so I've been wanting to buy one and I finally found one on sale at Target for only $15...score!
I am SO excited for cooler weather.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

We have the best neighbors! And, I am not talking about my parents next door (they are related so they have to be nice). The people that live behind us are wonderful! We put lemons on the fence for them (from our tree) and they have been putting treats for us in return. We get yummy mints, Girl Scout Cookies, lollipops, mini gumball machines, snowballs and even Peeps. The kids love it!

In fact the woman, Marlene, goes to Yoga on Saturdays at the gym so I get to see her there too. She is so outgoing and friendly and says she just loves hearing the kids over the fence. (even when they are fighting) Her husband is in very poor health but she says he likes bringing home treats to put on the fence. You can't help but love people like this.

When I was young I always wanted to live next to Mr. Roger's but this is WAY better :)
