A Sick Week

We've had a rough week.

It started off with one sick Mommy.
Then Francis started feeling sick. His car broke down & then we had to get new tires on the van.
After soccer on Wednesday Kai threw up. Then Kali threw up.
Then Kai & Kali felt better and went back to school, Kali went on a field trip & brought his journal home with this cute little letter in it to his friend Diem.
The kids had some friends over after school on Friday and then Kali got sick again.
And so did Kora. Saturday morning we were getting ready for Kai's soccer game & Kora got sick again. Kai was not feeling well either but wanted to play.
So, we headed to the game and Kai warmed up with the team

and went in to play 1st quarter
he was moving slower as time went on & finally LOOKED SOOOO SICK and asked to come out.
Poor little guy was not feeling well. His little friends on the team were so sweet & sat with him when they were not playing.
Hopefully we'll all be back to healthy soon.

Update

This yucky Haboob came rolling in and dusted out our yard....luckily a nice big rain/lightning storm was right behind and Kora was able to feel the rain for the first time.
Kai, Francis & I were outside the entire time it rained and it was wonderful to not feel hot & miserable. Kali was at my Mom's house and has been spending most of her time there since Saturday because she woke up that morning with the WORST cough! We've been trying to keep her away from Kora so when she is here she plays in her room and then she sleeps at my Mom & Dad's house.
We took Kora for her 2 week apt. and they said it's best to not have Kali around Kora at all. We miss our Kali but she LOVES being at Yaya's house!
Here is Kora having her bath...she is not very happy about bathtime but getting more comfortable each time.
At her 2 week appt she weighted 9lbs. 4 ounces and is 75%. Her length is 20 3/4 and 50%. Her head is 75%....our other two always had 100% heads so this is a small one :) She is a great eater and LOVES to be all stretched out...no swaddling for this little one.
and she is as cute as can be!!
I am starting to feel more "normal" & I even vaccumed the house yesterday....and went to the grocery store alone.

The cough

Kali missed 4 days of school last week. Poor thing had a nasty cough that would not go away.

We had a great time with her at home. The kids played outside for at least 5 hours everyday, laid on blankets in the grass, had picnics, dug holes in the dirt and even made up a bowling game with old water bottles. I love watching the kids playing outside and being creative.

They even helped me wash the car & then Kai decided that his bike needed to be clean too. Kali washed hers as well & then we took them for a bike ride.
Sadly, Kai has the horrible cough now & will be resting on the couch today. Poor kid. At least he had a nice week in the sun :)

Making the most of it

Kali had bronchitis & missed 7 days of school.
It was rough on her, she spent each night coughing.....a lot.
She threw up and lost weight (which she did NOT need to lose)
but we tried to make the best of her time at home.
We rented movies from Redbox, made tortilla chips (I'll put the recipe on Yummie Tummies)
did crafts, school work and read a ton of books.
On her final day home she was feeling MUCH better so we went to the mall to look at puppies, ride the carousel and have lunch.

We also went to the library to play, pick out more book & get a pass for the Dinosaur Museum in Mesa. It was a really nice time and we were a little sad when Kali went back to school on Friday. But we are so glad she is feeling better!

Home

Kali is sick with bronchitis and an ear infection (oh the joys of school)
and Noodle has a hurt paw.
Needless to say there has been a lot of laying around.
But I have been on a cleaning/rearranging frenzy!
You know giving the house a happy/healthy vibe.
First I had to change up the picture in Kai's room from jungle to scurvy dog

See the paint swatches under the Jolly Rodger? I am trying to figure out which light blue to paint his room.
My dad got him this great "pirate" map for his wall.
And here is a little glimpse of my sweet little guy playing in his room trying to be quiet while Kali rests. He is so funny playing and making a mess, then he cleans it right up!
He is so good about keeping his room clean.

Kali....not so much. It took me 3 hours to get her room picked up/rearranged.

Now I just need to conquer the hall closet.....or maybe I'll just join Kali for a nap :)

It's been a slow week

After our weekend of parties we decided to take it easy this week....in fact the kid's have not left the house besides going to Yaya's. So we have been doing lots of art projects, dressing up like daddy, playing fairy godparents, putting on our hats and going for morning walks, I am painting our french doors and best of all we ordered caterpillars online that we will watch grow into butterflies.
The kids are starting to feel better but now I am feeling sick :( Looks like a few more days cooped up at home for this trio....oh well at least I will be able to finish painting my french doors.

Cheering up!

Mr Kai has been sick and just plain old crabby
which makes Kali and mommy feel like this
so we spent the past few days cheering up by:

eating al fresco

turning this mess into

This! Putting them in
here for Kali's play store

and Mr. Becker did yard work this weekend and it looks great!
Oh and our sugar snap peas are popping up--love our garden!
Now if Kai's nose will stop running like a river....

Sniff

Somewhere over the course of our crazy week the kids and I caught colds. Sniff. Kai only has a little sniffle cold. Sniff. Kali has it much worse. Sniff. And, Mommy was the lucky one to have a HORRIBLE cold, even my eyes burn! Sniff. Normally this would not be THAT big of a deal BUT, Francis had the week off (he is a great help with the kids but he is soooo messy) and his family was in town from Ohio so we were busy bees. Which was a pleasant surprise because we had two nights this past week that I did not have to cook because we ate at my mother-in-laws home. Boy did I need a night off of cooking. Kali and Kai loved seeing their Great Grandparents and Fran's Aunt & Uncle so much over the past week. I do feel bad because on the last night of their trip Fran's Grandmother Marge was not feeling well ( I hope we did not give her something)

Sniff.

Then we had a Thomas family reunion on Sunday at the park (my dad's side) and we were in a dusty little area that made feel worse. Sniff. And, Kali had dance class and tumbling that were at the beginning of the cold but you could tell that she just didn't feel right. Sniff. My cousins (from my mom's side) also came into town from the Rez (Whiteriver White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation) and we had a fun time seeing them on Saturday and having lunch.

So, this week we are back to our normal routine, a tidy home, and just lounging around in Kali's room watching Mulan and looking at books. Oh and best thing off all---the kids did not get up until 9am which is a great way to start the day! Now if only I could get rid of this cold. Sniff.

Now that I am done with the recap of the past week I feel the need to vent a bit.......first of all as stated above I am sick so..... my mom stops by after church to check on me and says, "oh you really don't look good, you look soooo sick" and preceded to tell me that I look like "walking death" (a bit harsh) After she left I asked Fran, who went on to tell me how I don't look bad at all, in fact I look pretty. (I think he was playing it safe) So, later in the afternoon I took a shower and put on some makeup and headed out with the family to the park for the Thomas reunion and my Grandfather told me that I look like "an old mother" (Now what does that mean) but you know this man is OLD...I mean Great Depression, WWII old....so maybe he is just losing his eyesight. In fact the more I think about it I am sure that he has lost his mind as well as his eyesight....I am fabulous!

Sick Kids :(

My poor little kiddos are sick :( They both have runny noses & Kali has the worst cough. Luckily Kai is not coughing but he has a bad tummy. Good thing Francis is home today to help out, he really does come in handy :)And here is a picture of my sweet little guy, Kai & our family dinner night that we have oh I would say twice a week....sometimes more. My mom never lets us know when she is taking a picture so that is why this is so random.

24 hour flu times 7

Grrrrr for the past 3 days either myself, Kali or Kai have been sick and now it has trickled over to my mom's house, and on to my brothers Bret & Cody (who just happen to be in San Diego right now for vacation) Kali was the first to get it so Cody says it is all her fault....and the only one who did not get it is Francis! SOOOO not fair!
