Somewhere over the course of our crazy week the kids and I caught
colds. Sniff. Kai only has a little sniffle cold.
Sniff. Kali has it much worse.
Sniff. And, Mommy was the lucky one to have a HORRIBLE cold, even my eyes burn!
Sniff. Normally this would not be THAT big of a deal BUT, Francis had the week off (he is a
great help with the kids but he is
soooo messy) and his family was in town from Ohio so we were busy bees. Which was a
pleasant surprise because we had two nights this past week that I did not have to cook because we ate at my mother-in-laws home. Boy did I need a night off of cooking. Kali and Kai
loved seeing their Great Grandparents and Fran's Aunt & Uncle so much over the past week.
I do feel bad because on the last night of their trip Fran's Grandmother Marge was not feeling well ( I hope we did not give her something)
Sniff.
Then we had a
Thomas family reunion on Sunday at the park (my dad's side) and we were in a dusty little area that made feel worse.
Sniff. And, Kali had dance class and tumbling that were at the beginning of the cold but you could tell that she just didn't feel right.
Sniff. My cousins (from my mom's side) also came into town from the
Rez (Whiteriver White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation) and we had a fun time seeing them on Saturday and having lunch.
So, this week we are back to our normal routine, a tidy home, and just lounging around in Kali's room watching
Mulan and looking at books. Oh and best thing off all---the kids did not get up until
9am which is a great way to start the day! Now if only I could get rid of this cold.
Sniff.
Now that I am done with the recap of the past week I feel the need to vent a bit.......first of all as stated above I am sick so..... my mom stops by after church to check on me and says, "oh you really don't look good, you look soooo sick" and preceded to tell me that I look like "walking death" (a bit harsh) After she left I asked Fran, who went on to tell me how I don't look bad at all, in fact I look pretty. (I think he was playing it safe) So, later in the afternoon I took a shower and put on some makeup and headed out with the family to the park for the Thomas reunion and my Grandfather told me that I look like "an old mother" (Now what does that mean) but you know this man is OLD...I mean Great Depression, WWII old....so maybe he is just losing his eyesight. In fact the more I think about it I am sure that he has lost his mind as well as his eyesight....I am fabulous!
