40

My 40th birthday started with flowers from Francis and the sweetest card. Then I took the kids to school and headed to my hair appointment. My friend Srey made my hair fabulous and I  snapped this selfie because I want to remember exactly what I looked like the day I turned 40.

Then, Kali had a half day so I picked her up and we went to lunch at the Yard with my Mom and I ate my favorite dish there--the California Roll appetizer (try it, it's delicious) In the afternoon I picked up Kai and Kora and it was business as usual. Homework, making dinner and soccer practice.

Then that weekend it was time to PARTY! Friends met up at Blue Martini and it was SO much fun. From friends I've known since preschool to friends I've met recently, it was perfect. I say this a lot but I am sooooo lucky to have so many awesome people in my life.

So far, 40 is GREAT!

Twelve

On Kai's birthday we went up to Dewey afer he opened gifts to spend the weekend at my brother's little farm. Kai shot his arrows and threw his knives and had a great time.

The following weekend he had his birthday party with soccer and school friends.

Kora, of course, jumped right into the party!
The boys, swam, played soccer, frisbee, ate lots of junk food and had a great time.
I made the cake in a hurry so it's a mess but they ate it all up!

Happy Birthday to the best son we could ask for!

Eleven

Kai turned 11 and had a wild and crazy swimming/soccer party with his friends. We had his favorite sandwich from Captain Bill's submarines, snowcones, popcorn and Doritos. He picked all of the food. The boys had a lot of fun and I am pretty sure they all left exhausted.

Thirteen

Kali's birthday started with her waking up an opening her presents from us and her immediately changing into her new Office t-shirt. Then, we went to pick up doughnut holes for her last day of school.

After school I picked her and two friends up and then they had her favorite cheese and fancy crackers from the Fry's cheese counter. They did some 3-D printing and hung out until the party started.
Her party was next door at my parent's house so the kids could go swimming.

the theme was "Frappe Birthday" so we had Kali's favorite Starbucks tea to drink. Her other favorite things were my homemade brownies with melted chocolate topping, muddy buddies, popcorn, snowcones and Barro's pizza.

it was a windy today so the girls flew a kite
they played ping pong and took pictures
 it was a good night
