Kai's team got to play after the college team on Friday night. It was pretty cool for them to watch the college team (that they get to train with) and then play their own game on that big field. Kai said he was out of shape and we laughed because it's just because he ran all over that HUGE field. They played well and we had fun watching. Go Bears!

8th grader
You know how 8th graders can be really awkward? Well not Kali. She is so happy and confident! I am so proud of her. She got very bad news the week before school that her favorite teacher committed suicide. It was hard for her to understand and she cried a lot. She asked to change schools but then decided to stay and I am proud of her.
She's in advanced science, STEM, trying out for the volleyball team already, club swim and will do aerospace club again. Oh, and the bottom of her hair is dyed blue :)
Sure do love our Kali girl.

Kora was up bright and happy on the first day of school! She has such an awesome teacher that is a friend of mine so we feel lucky. My Mom and I dropped her off and she told us we did not need to stay long. ha! I'm so proud of my baby girl. Her teacher emailed me a few days later and said that Kora is a great leader in the class.
5th grade
Kai is attending Madison Meadows this year it's 5-8th grade middle school. Francis drives him since it's on his way to work so I don't have many pictures except this. He really likes the school, is in honors classes and is happy when I pick him up. He's still very busy with club soccer and has his first outdoor game Friday night at Phoenix College. Go bears!
Back to School Open House
Kali had her back to school registration the SAME night at Kora did. So I worked at the yearbook booth at Kali's school. Then left her there while I took Kora to meet her teacher. Francis did not get to come since the workers were out at home getting the water out and ceiling insulation cleaned up. It was a crazy night but the girls had fun!
Kora LOVED the classroom and is SOOO excited to have Mrs. Gleash. She even made two friends already! She can't wait for the first day of school.
Stay-cation.
Since our house sustained water damage we had to have fans and the big loud machines brought in to get rid of the moisture ASAP! So we could not sleep with the noise and the house was HOT! We stayed down the street at the Pointe and told the kids it was a fun last day of summer Stay-cation :) Gotta look for silver linings in all of this mess. Luckily we have awesome friends that have been so helpful with calls, texts, bringing treats, having play dates and offers to help. We are surrounded by so many good people.
Kai is not in any of the stay cations pics because he was with his friends at Sky Zone and Cracker Jaxs until the evening.
When it rains, it pours.....in our house
after we got home from our trip to Pinetop there was a microburst and the wind was 75 mph. It ripped off part of our roof and then the water came in our dining room, closet and bedroom. Sadly a second storm came a few days ago and more water came in the dining room. Insurance is being SLOW but hopefully it will be fixed soon because Fran and I are not sleeping in the living room.
