Madly in love.....with San Diego

catching some rays

surf's up!

watching fireworks on the deck, my mom, brother Bret, brother Cody & his wife Shonda came with us.....LOVE this bunch!
Kali getting ready to shred some waves-she was soooo BRAVE, she swam in the ocean with Mr. Becker, boogie boarded and went out on the kayak! But you know she is named Kali because of our love of California so it was her destiny to be a beachy girl :)

Mr. Becker skimmin' for a livin' (my brother Cody said this everytime they went skim boarding)
rock the kayak ....I dont' have a pic of it but Cody & Shonda & Bret came with us and my mom even got on the kayak & she NEVER gets in the water-- GO YAYA!
at the cutest & cleanest playground right next to the bay...waiting for the fireworks to start
shelling at the bay
a little ocean football
the car ride there was a little long

happy to be on the beach
my mom with Kai, seriously he must have said , "Yaya" at least 2 trillion times in the past week! The boy LOVES his Yaya!

Zoo....I am pretty sure we walked about 75 miles and it was almost ALL uphill...how is that possible?? Kai was excited to see the lions & at the SD zoo they are literally two feet in front of you, it was amazing! Oh and Kali kept saying, "this is WAY better than our zoo".
Kai wishing he was on a sailboat
first day at the beach house
Mr & Mrs Becker...lovin' each other and the beach!
Little Miss Kali asked, "can we swim to China?"

watching Daddy & Uncle Bret play catch
Kai, this boy had both I-teeth coming in on the trip and he was a crabby mess 50% of the time but still found time to enjoy himself after finally giving up on keeping the sand off his feet. Once he got past his hatred of sand it was smooth sailing!

We had the BEST 7 days! Kali cried so hard when it was time to leave and for a second I really thought I would shed a tear. We had so much fun being with each other and being outside. San Diego is my idea of heaven. We ran on the beach, went kayaking, I finished an entire book "Divine Justice" By David Baldacci (I highly reccommend it) spent days on the beach watching Fran, Bret and Cody surf, skim and play catch, built sandcastles, found shells, ate really good food, took walks to the park at night and watched fireworks, went to the San Diego zoo and had the time of our lives! Kali is right, we do need to move to San Diego.
Now we are home
it is hot
it is DRY
our yard needs trimming and mowing
our house is already a mess
the kids are missing being outside
and don't even get me started on the amount of laundry that needs to be put away

we are counting down the days until we go back & I am looking online for Auditor jobs in SD :) Better tell Mr. Becker to update the 'ol resume!
