The Nutcracker

Kali has been taking ballet for almost 2 years now and this week was her first show, The Nutcracker. She was the lead little snowflake & lead mouse. She had a great time! Here she is before we left for the Friday show. She was SO excited to wear makeup. Mr. Becker and I were however, a little disturbed to see our baby in makeup.

Backstage waiting. It seems like there is a lot of waiting that goes along with being in a ballet.

With the roses my mom & aunt Minnie brought her

With one of her little friends.
With Daddy after her 4th and last show.

I am SO proud of my little ballerina!

Kindergarten Fall Festival

Tuesday night was the Kindergarten Fall Festival.
It was the CUTEST!
I got there early to help get the kids ready & paint faces.
This was my favorite face by far

The show was so cute. They sang songs about Indians, Pilgrims, turkeys, scarecrows and fall leaves. It was a packed house too. But by far the best part of the show was the end when Kali walks to the front of the stage with a mic and says, "thank you for coming to our fall festival"! I almost cried! We did not know she had a speaking part. We were SOOO PROUD!

Her teacher is so wonderful, we are SO lucky to have Mrs. Carmen for our Kali!
Here is Kali after the show having cookies with some friends.
It was a night Mr. Becker and I will never forget.

Dinner and a show

Last night we had dinner outside.
Dessert first because we're crazy like that.
Mr. Becker set up a s'mores station for the kiddos.
Enjoying the beautiful weather
Dinner was French Onion Soup, fresh fruit & grilled sage chicken
and sparkling blood orange juice (the BEST drink ever, seriously go get some from Costco today)

and the evening ended with a show
Watching Kali and Kai sing and dance is a great way to end a day :)

Feeding ducks on Channel 15

The other day my parents came to pick Kali up from school we headed over to Roadrunner park. The kids wanted to fed the birds & ducks and fish in the pond.

while we were there a man came walking up with a large camera

and set up right next to the kids....I was a little creeped out so I walked over to see what he was doing AND he asked if he could tape my kids for a story on Channel 15 News about feeding ducks and parks! I recognized him from tv. he put a mike on Kali and did an interview with my kiddos! How cool is that? He said it will be on sometime this week on News 15.

and Kai got some good fishing in after that :)

Hooky

Today I decided that since yesterday was a holiday....today should be too!
Kali was suppose to go school BUT her teacher was gone SO I called her in and we went to the park with Daddy to have a picnic and play soccer! It was so nice to be outside, walk around and find pine cones and play on the playground. When we got back Kai made bird feeders with the pine cones, birdseed & peanut butter and we headed next door to play in the playhouse at Yaya's. It is actually my playhouse when I was little & now my kiddos like to play there too.

Noodle was happy to be outside running around. Even though we've had him for almost 8 years this little guy still acts like a puppy.

The kids helped my mom plant flowers in the window pots.
Kai cooked up some grub.

Phoenix is BEAUTIFUL this time of year. (it better be after the hell we endure in the summer)

getting a little ironing done

What a fun day this turned out to be! Sometimes it's just fun to play hooky ;)
