Verizon Super Bowl Central

I wanted to take the kids down to the Verizon Super Bowl Central since we had to tell Kai that we can't afford a $3,000 Superbowl ticket for him. (poor, poor Kai)
We drove downtown after an early release day and brought Kali's friend Lauren with us.
Here we are in the AZ Republic Photo booth.

Outside of the Sun's arena

watching some cool dancers warm up
 One of the stages
 downtown Phoenix looked SOOOO different
watching the filming of some Superbowl thing with some former football players that are now commentators, Hines Ward and Jason Taylor.

 The big 49 sign

There was live music and dance performances
Kora was dancing to a band warming up

Getting ready to walk back to the car

We went back on Saturday night but it was WAY too crowded. Luckily, we left Kora home with my parents.  Here are a few pics we took before it just got too overwhelming.
 some cool sand castles

Then we turned the corner and it was SO crowded. We could not even get into the restaurants to eat. We walked in this crowd for about 2 miles and it never got smaller. I did not even know there were this many people in Phoenix!

We drove to Chili's by our house and had a nice dinner.

100th Day of School

Today was the 100th Day of School. I am not sure why this needs to be celebrated? (and I celebrate pretty much everything) So to mark this momentous day Kai's 1st grade class was suppose to dress up like a 100 year old. (Kai said it's LAME, and he's right) Kai informed me that most people don't live to be 100 and so you'd be dead. So he dressed as a zombie. If you ask me that's pretty good thinking on his part. He fell and smashed his face on a door frame the other day so he has a bad lightning bolt shaped bruise on his face so we just added some dark eyes and lines on his face and BOOM! we got a 100 year old zombie ;) Look how silly all of these cute kids look dressed like elderly people. Kai is in the flannel shirt looking all creepy.
Kali's class did not celebrate 100 day so she just dressed cute & without knowing had a twins day with her friend Lauren.
I got to have lunch today with Kali and her friends & classmates

Little Koko went to story time which she USE to LOVE! Now she decided that she is not going to participate and just sit there like a crabby patty. It's really great because I love sitting on the floor with a cranky 2 year old on my lap while singing songs that she won't dance to. Not sure why she has done a 180 on this little class.

Morning

My kids are getting too big, too fast. I wish time would slow down and we could go back to when they were home with me all day. Here they are before school last Friday (Kai's favorite day) Love this little first grade stud. He has NO front teeth and the scabbed, bruised knees and shins of a soccer player.
and my sweet, sassy, dancing, artistic Kali. She has a big violin performance coming up that she is really excited for.

Soccer day

Francis has taken on a few more teams. 3 to be exact. So he put together a mini tournament for a fun Saturday. The boys had a good time and I'm pretty sure they were all exhausted by the end.

The weather could not have been more perfect. 75* is soccer weather!

This was Kai's team for the 3v3, two of his good friends.
After 5 games in one day they started to get a little crazy :)

Principal's List

Last week I was going through Kali's bag pack and I pulled out her report card (usually this is met with a little anxiety since she struggles with reading comprehension) Well much to my surprise I saw this:
our Kali girl got all A's and B's for the first time! I am SOOO proud of her! She has been working so hard this year. We just love our sweet, sassy & SMART Kali :)
Here is Kali and her friend Lauren.
