Project Runway Jr.

Kali has a tiny dress form that she makes little dress designs on.

This little lady is SO creative!

She loves to watch Project Runway and is begging me to let her sew. My mom recently taught her to use a needle and thread and she was so excited.



She is a little fashion designer :)

Dance Party!

Kali had her friend Marli over for dinner & they had a dance party outside.

I'm so glad Kali makes such good choices when it comes to her friends. She is such a sweet girl and she is always so nice to Kai.



It was nice to be outside and not sweating to death. The only down side was that Kai and I got eaten alive by mosquitoes :( It's a Calamine lotion night.

But it was well worth it!

Tooth Fairy update.....

The room was covered with a pink glittery star trail to the window. She got a Hello Kitty pencil, stickers & notepad. I LOVE being the tooth fairy :)

Mr. Becker's fans!!

We went to watch Mr. Becker play soccer this weekend and Kai got a little bored after he ran out of snacks.

So, I gave him my camera and he took pics of his shoes....

Garden

The time has come to plant the garden. The temps are starting to go under 100*...FINALLY! So this weekend we took a trip to the Po (Home Depot) and bought seeds for pea pods, carrots, cilantro, two different kinds of lettuce, and hmmm I cannot remember what else we planted. I added Miracle Grow dirt since our garden is in desperate need of some nourishment. We also fertilized the trees & rose bushes.

My mom planted this awesome lime green plant (cannot remember the name of it) and I cut pieces off and have them soaking in water to grow roots & I've been replanting them in pots & in the yard.

and basil & parsley are in pots so hopefully they will be healthier than last year.

The kids loved helping me plant....they planted sunflowers, lupines and wildflowers. Here's to a nice green fall!

First day of Fall

Apparently it was the first day of Fall...but 107*.

HUGE bummer.

So to cheer ourselves up the kids and I put up our Halloween decorations.

It gave us hope for cooler nights, weekend hikes and long days at the zoo and parks.

Of course Kai already has two Halloween costumes ready. He LOVES costumes so this is his favorite time of year.

And today we took a trip to Home Depot to purchase our fall plants, seeds, and fertilizer for our fruit trees. Busy day around here!

JUMP!!!

Today was a sad day at the Becker house.We gave our new dog Nala away. She was up ALL night long and she and Noodle spent way too much time fighting. So Mr. Becker and I decided that if we wanted to be sane, productive parents then we need sleep.


Now to the happy part of this post. Kai took the news very well (he did not really care at all) and went about his business of being a SUPER HERO!!

Our family gets bigger...

When we first got married we got Noodle. He is very uptight and likes to bite anyone that comes over (besides family). He is Kai's BEST friend and very loyal to our family.

When we first talked about getting a dog, Mr. Becker always wanted a German Shepard.


I did NOT want a big dog because I'm a little scared but Francis promises he is going to take care of her. So Nala joined our family yesterday. Last night was a little rough (like having a new baby rough) but hopefully it gets better soon.

The kids are sure happy about her.

Noodle however.....isn't :)

***POST EDIT***** 4 days later (after VERY little sleep & numerous fights with Noodle) we had to give Nala away. We found her a good home with a friend of mine.

Art

Kali LOVES art. It's one of the reason that we changed her school this year. Her last school was majorly lacking in the art department. Her art teacher this year picked a student from each class to have their art on display at Yogurtini.

Yaya, Granddad, Uncle Cody, Kai, Kali's best friend Marley & her Grandma came to celebrate.

Kali is so lucky to have met such a nice little girl. She is in Kali's ballet/tap class too.

Cooler nights

Cooler nights mean we are going on our family walks again.

Nothing better than being outside and getting some exercise with this cute little bunch :)

I'm Happiest When....I'm with my family; sitting by the fireplace on a chilly evening drinking hot chocolate, or going on a hike or walk in the neighborhood, on a road trip or when we have family dinners outside.
The best place to be in the summer....the beach (defiantly NOT anywhere in AZ)
I could spend the whole day....outside (when it's not 100*) reading a good book or at the zoo with the kids

Kai's preschool class

Last night we had a special "Kai goes to school" dinner. He wanted steak, broccoli, bacon & cookies for dessert.

And, his first day of preschool picture. He is just taking an ABC class at the community center 2 days a week. It's a good way to ease him into school slowly (I did the same with Kali)

He had a great time! I was SO relieved :)

Spoke too soon

Just as I finished writing my last post about how hot and horrible it is in Phoenix. A huge cloud cover came and it started raining!!!
WONDERFUL! I LOVE the rain.

Kai has his friend Julianne over today. Nothing like playing outside in the rain, with a good friend. Perfect :)
