HE WON!!!

Barack Obama is going to be our President! I have been glued to the t.v. for the past 3 hours. I knew if he won it would be a touching and exciting moment but I got teary eyed. I feel hopeful for our country's economy, enviornment and our international image to improve but most importantly I am so proud of our country. I feel like we truly live in a time when ALL parents, no matter what the color of their skin can tell their children, "when you grow up, you can be ANYTHING".

For African Americans this is a monumental moment, I cannot even imagine what they must be feeling....but I would imagine they are thinking..."Yes we can"! So, thank you to Barack Obama for changing the face of our country and giving us all hope for a better future. Some have questioned if he is ready.. and tonight the majority of our country have spoken..."Yes he can"!
Oh...and now it is official....I have a picture with the President of the United States!

Vote!

Happy Election Day! I am sooooo excited for tonight when we will have a new President! I already mailed my ballot in but Francis will be at the polls today BARACKING THE VOTE!

Obama Mama

I finally got my Barack Obama sign up in the front yard (Thank you Nancy Goss) and it is still standing....Francis thought some racist thug might come take it down and throw a rock through the front window or shoot at the house (seriously he really thought this)but no- we are all safe and sound just joining in the Democratic Process. Oh, and in no way, shape, or form does this mean I am a Democrat....Fran and I are Independents. So, please spare me the long comment on why I should vote for McCain because I have looked at both sides. Kali is even joining in on the fun, she likes to go around the house singing, "Barack Obama" I think she thinks it is a fun cheer or song or something.

And, yes that is yours truly with hopefully future POTUS, Barack Obama. (Just in case I have not posted this pic a million times--I just love it)

God Bless America!

The Democratic National Convention has wrapped and I feel very proud to be an American and live during a time that we have a man that is half African American running for President. All I have to say is....it is about time! Then, John McCain announces that his VP choice is a woman! Again....it is about time! Granted I would never vote for John McCain for a number of reasons but good for him. And, if you did watch the DNC they you will know that Obama gave a wonderful speech....that man can sure get me excited about politics. For those of you who don't know I ACTUALLY do know what I am talking about when it comes to politics....I have my Bachelor's from ASU in Political Science, I was an intern for US Congressman John Shadegg (a Republican), I also interned for a very conservative Republican lobbyist at the AZ Capitol....which is why I had my name removed from the Republican party and added as a Democrat....THEN I worked for the AZ Democratic Party as the Native American Outreach Director and after that I am now a registered Independent. I truly believe that a voter needs to research both sides & not just follow the party ticket. So, get educated on all the issues & go make an informed decision---and as the politicans say, "God Bless America"!

Kali & Kai say, " My mama is for Obama"!

Here I am with Sen. Barak Obama when I worked for the AZ Dem. Party (I am pregnant with Kali in the pic) I remember I did not know much about him then but he came, spoke, and then said he could not stay long because he wanted to spend the day with his wife & kids. Okay, this was the FIRST & ONLY time I had ever heard a politican say that....usually they will stay forever and schmooze & take pics. SO, I REALLY like this guy!
P.S. if you enlarge the pic you will notice that I had the CUTEST/Most Painful shoes on :)

This sounds familiar

Okay I know I normally put little cute things about my kids on here but this is something EVERYONE should read and then think about how familiar it sounds and how relevant it is to America's current foriegn policy and how it is "presented" to Americans here at home....

"Why of course the people don't want war. . . . That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

--Hermann Goering, Nazi officer, during his Nuremberg war crimes trial
